At Mahaveer University Meerut, we are committed to upholding intellectual property rights and respecting copyright laws across our expansive digital presence platforms. These platforms, are enriched with content from various contributors including various channels, associates, students, and faculty members, and are regularly updated to provide a dynamic and informative experience to the students and community.
It is possible, in our endeavor to offer a diverse and enriching online presence, that any copyrighted material may be inadvertently included. We want to assure our community that any such use of copyrighted material is not intentional, and we are dedicated to promptly addressing and rectifying such instances.
If you believe that copyrighted material, for which you hold the rights, has been inadvertently included on our digital platforms (website/social media platforms/applications/portals), we kindly request you to notify us at info@mvu.edu.in. Your notice will be treated with utmost importance, and upon receipt, we will take immediate action to investigate and, if necessary, remove the copyrighted material in question.

For Students and Faculty Members-
At Mahaveer University Meerut, we acknowledge and respect the intellectual property rights of our students and faculty members. This Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) policy outlines the principles governing the creation, ownership, protection, and use of intellectual property within our academic community.
Scope
This policy applies to all students and faculty members of Mahaveer University Meerut, including full-time and part-time staff, visiting faculty, researchers, and students enrolled in various programs.
Ownership of Intellectual Property
- Student-Created Intellectual Property:
- Students retain ownership of intellectual property created independently, without the use of university resources, and not as part of their academic coursework or responsibilities.
- Intellectual property created as part of coursework, projects, or other university activities may be subject to shared ownership, as outlined in specific agreements or university policies related to those activities.
- Faculty-Created Intellectual Property:
- Faculty members generally retain ownership of intellectual property created independently of university resources or outside the scope of their employment.
- Intellectual property created with significant use of university resources or as part of their employment responsibilities may be subject to shared ownership, as outlined in specific agreements or university policies related to those activities.
Disclosure and Reporting
- Students:
- Students are encouraged to disclose any intellectual property developed during their course of study to the relevant department or university authority for guidance on ownership and protection.
- Faculty Members:
- Faculty members are required to promptly disclose any potentially patentable inventions, copyrighted works, or other intellectual property to the university’s designated office for intellectual property management.
Commercialization and Licensing
The university may, at its discretion, explore opportunities for the commercialization of intellectual property created within its community. In such cases, the university will work collaboratively with the creators to negotiate equitable terms and ensure proper recognition.
Protection and Enforcement
The university is committed to taking reasonable steps to protect the intellectual property rights of its students and faculty members. This includes pursuing legal action against unauthorized use or infringement when necessary.
