On Friday, a lamp lighting ceremony was organized by the Nursing Department at Mahaveer University, Meerut situated on the Meerut Karnal Highway. All the students studying in ANM and GNM participated in the event. Students took an oath of humanitarian service, determination, duty, and dedication by lighting candles.
The program began with the auspicious presence of Chief Guest Vice Chairperson Mrs. Sheetal Kaushik, Director General Satish Raghav, CEO Dr. Ashish Baliyan, and Administrative Officer Abhishek Kaushik, who collectively lit the lamp in homage to Goddess Saraswati.
During the program, Chief Guest Vice Chairperson Mrs. Sheetal Kaushik inaugurated the event, inspiring all the students. She emphasized that nursing is the biggest medium for humanitarian service. Nurses play the most crucial role in the field of healthcare. Understanding one’s behavior and responsibilities is of utmost importance. She also advised constant self-upgradation in the changing times.
In the ceremony of lamp lighting and oath-taking, a tribute was paid to Florence Nightingale (The Lady with the Lamp). ANM student Surbhi Soma presented the Ganesh Vandana. The program was concluded with the lighting of candles and the administration of the oath by the Head of the Nursing Department, Ramakant Sharma.
On this occasion, nursing department staff including Sachin Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Poonam Malik, Gunjan Tomar, Akansha Singh, Vaishnavi, and others were present.
